Hi. I'm Harriet. I don't participate in this community nearly enough.

I'm from upstate NY and belong to Temple Emanu-El (reform).

I am going to be 19 on September 30th, then I can legally purchase alcohol in all of Canada. I am entering my sophomore year at St. Lawrence University in just three short weeks and I absolutely cannot wait. SLU has all of about 8 Jews. It is preppy central but I love it to pieces. I have a boyfriend who is from Westchester, and he is half Jewish, but the wrong half (aka he's catholic. oh well).
I love shopping and all things high end. I don't mind that I am materialistic. Nice designer clothing excites me.
I am double majoring in global studies and sociology... I plan to go to NYU to get my masters in global studies, while working with the professors there to secure an internship/future job with an NGO or something, maybe at the UN. I have a crush on New York City... call me strange, but it's so true. I love theatre, shopping, the history, the diversity... everything. When I see the theme for Sex and the City, it's pretty much orgasmic.
I like being a do-gooder and volunteering. I used to volunteer at the Special Olympics and at an organization that helps women once they have gotten out of an abusive relationship. This summer I am an ice cream scooper extraordinaire and I work at a school for kids with severe developmental disabilities. That job has completely opened up my eyes to how life could have been and I am so thankful that I am normal.
I am a fan of really chill parties and vodka. I may come off as a bit shy at first, but I am incredibly talkative and I'd like to believe that I'm a fun person. I am scared of girls, they intimidate me. All my friends, exclusive of some female friends I've had forever, are guys. Yet, I'm pretty much the girliest girl ever.
